The Law Library will be closed starting on Saturday, May 11, 2024 for important safety renovations taking place inside and outside the Library. We’ll reopen in August.
Access will end at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2024. Check the Law Library Hours page. Keycard access to MPAA 408 and the MPAA Student Lounge will be available 24/7, with additional MPAA space available after 6/14.

Current UCI affiliates can request to check out eligible Law Library print materials, or request to have materials from other libraries sent to the Law Library for pickup.
Current UCI affiliates can also request scans from all available Law Library materials, subject to copyright provisions.
Instructions:
Start by finding a record in our catalog (use the search bar on the Law Library's homepage) for a book.You'll see a link to sign in for request options.
Click Sign In and choose UC Irvine Login. You'll be redirected to the UCINetID sign in page and will be taken back to the catalog record after you log in. Options for requesting either pickup or scanning are available when applicable (if a book doesn't check out, you will only be able to request scans).
Choose your preferred option: scan or pickup. If you want something scanned, you'll need to enter the pages or chapters needed. Books from outside UCI's collection may say "Request Interlibrary Loan" instead of "Request Pickup".
Click submit, and you're done! When your item is ready, someone from the Law Library will contact you at your @lawnet.uci.edu email address to schedule a pickup time. If you prefer to be able to pick up your materials without scheduling a pickup time in advance, choose Langson or Science Libraries for your pickup location.
Turnaround times may be longer than usual, particularly for scanning requests. We appreciate your patience. If you have a question about a request you placed, contact Jeff Latta, Operations and Resource Sharing Manager.

Books from any UCI Library can be returned to the book drops at the entrance of the Langson and Science Libraries . There is also a freestanding book drop located outside the Student Health Center (across the street from the School of Law).
