Starting in July 2026, the NCBE will release two bar exams: the UBE (with subject changes noted below) and the Next Gen Bar Exam. For more information on which jurisdictions will adopt NextGen and for more information about the exam in general, please check the NextGen page on the NCBE website.
Note that Effective with the July 2026 UBE, the following areas will no longer be tested on the MEE: Conflict of Laws, Family Law, Trusts and Estates, and Secured Transactions.
