  • From the Lexis Advance search screen, select Litigation Profile Suite from the drop-down menu in the upper left corner. 
  • Search first name /3 last name using Judge drop-down menu (e.g., edward /3 chen)
  • Select Judge Profile > Legal News
  • Use Search Within Results (e.g., chen /p controvers! or notor!))
  • Repeat for News and Web categories

To see whether a judge has been disciplined for judicial misconduct, KeyCite 28 U.S.C. § 351 in Westlaw because any publicly-available information will cite back to the Judicial Conduct and Disability Act of 1980, 28 U.S.C. §§ 351 et seq. Quick steps:

  • type 28 usc 351 in the search box
  • select Citing References tab
  • use Search Within Results for judge's name (e.g., manuel /3 real)
